Coloring of Graphs Avoiding Bicolored Paths of a Fixed Length

چکیده
The problem of finding the minimum number colors to color a graph properly without containing any bicolored copy fixed family subgraphs has been widely studied. Most well-known examples are star coloring and acyclic graphs (Grunbaum, 1973) where copies \(P_4\) cycles not allowed, respectively. We introduce variation these problems study proper path length provide general bounds for all graphs. A \(P_k\)-coloring an undirected G is vertex such that there no \(P_k\) in G, needed called \(P_k\)-chromatic denoted by \(s_k(G).\) on \(s_k(G)\) graphs, particular, proving with maximum degree \(d\ge 2,\) \(k\ge 4,\) \(s_k(G)\le \lceil 6\sqrt{10}d^{\frac{k-1}{k-2}} \rceil .\) Moreover, we find exact values products some paths \(k=5,6\).

A colorful path in a graph G is a path with χ(G) vertices whose colors are different. A vcolorful path is such a path, starting from v. Let G 6= C7 be a connected graph with maximum degree ∆(G). We show that there exists a (∆(G) + 1)-coloring of G with a v-colorful path for every v ∈ V (G). We also prove that this result is true if one replaces (∆(G) + 1) colors with 2χ(G) colors. If χ(G) = ω(G...

It is an open problem whether the 3-coloring problem can be solved in polynomial time in the class of graphs that do not contain an induced path on t vertices, for fixed t. We propose an algorithm that, given a 3-colorable graph without an induced path on t vertices, computes a coloring with max { 5, 2 ⌈ t−1 2 ⌉ − 2 } many colors. If the input graph is triangle-free, we only need max { 4, ⌈ t−1...

Let v be a vertex of a graph G; a transition graph T (v) of v is a graph whose vertices are the edges incident with v. We consider graphs G with prescribed transition systems T = { T (v) | v ∈ V (G) }. A path P in G is called T -compatible, if each pair uv, vw of consecutive edges of P form an edge in T (v). Let A be a given class of graphs (closed under isomorphism). We study the computational...

Let $G=(V(G),E(G))$ be a simple, finite and undirected graph of order $n$. A $k$-vertex weightings of a graph $G$ is a mapping $w: V(G) to {1, ldots, k}$. A $k$-vertex weighting induces an edge labeling $f_w: E(G) to N$ such that $f_w(uv)=w(u)+w(v)$. Such a labeling is called an {it edge-coloring k-vertex weightings} if $f_{w}(e)not= f_{w}(echr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39'...
